Adolescent Assessments

Targeted Assessments

Adolescence is a period of identity development and exploration. With that development and increasing independence can come conflict and confusion. Targeted assessments provide an opportunity to dig deep into one specific and narrow area of concern using a combination of psychological and neuropsychological assessments. For example, questioning whether or not a child has AD/HD or Autism Spectrum Disorder. Dr. Smith will explore how the adolescent’s symptoms have changed over time and how they are impacting them currently. She works closely with all of the key people in a child’s life, such as therapists, teachers, and caregivers to understand an adolescent’s unique needs across settings.

Comprehensive Assessments

Comprehensive assessments are an opportunity to explore the individual. Oftentimes a concerning behaviors, such as dropping grades or irritability, are only the tip of the iceberg. The questions that initially brought you to treatment lead to more questions. A comprehensive assessment allows for in depth exploration of each domain in order to draw connections across domains. Comprehensive assessments also help to identify more areas of strength that may not otherwise be evaluated since they are not areas of concern. Overlooked strengths can then be bolstered and used to support areas of growth. Find answers to your questions and the questions you do not yet know to ask.
